Please note that the address for this demo page is the same as the address for the page purported to have been a part of my Website (containing the image in question). Since this demo page is on my server, it can be viewed online - but it is not a part of my site. Like the page in your screenshot, there are no links to it on my site, and there are no links (navigation) from it to pages on my site. It is not available for public viewing - unless someone stumbles upon it or trolls for terms that would lead to it. I've created hundreds, if not thousands, of test (comp) pages like this one, and they've never seen the light of day, as they didn't conform to whatever design I happened to have been working on. I have experimented with images, colors, etc. in test pages - like all others who work in creative ways. If I've found images I ultimately used, I've purchased them or obtained them from subscription services. The test pages, though not used, were not always purged from the server - which will be the case for most people who create Websites. Though not public and not used, this makes them vulnerable to trollers, searchbots, etc. The Getty image in question in the trolled comp page is too small and contains all the wrong colors (blue-ish) for my site/logo theme (green and red). I wouldn't have/haven't been using it. If I've misunderstood the verbiage in the license information about comping permissions available on Getty's site (included in the e-mail message associated with this page) and the policy was/is to charge a small fee for using an image for comping purposes, please let me know. I'm not culpable for the broader use charges inflicted upon me. This demo page will be left on my server, and given enough time, it will also be indexed by the search engines. As demonstrated, though, it's not available to the public and is not associated with a Website. May I suggest that your third-party service at least visit the Websites they indicate may be using non-licensed images, rather than relying on non-public stray pages that are obtained in searches. |
